7th Annual Marilyn Moore Grand Youth Retreat in Columbus, Georgia

During the week of 13 July 2015, members of the Prince Hall Grand OES Team, Grand Youth Directors, Grand Youth Officers and invited, graduated Grand Youth members attended the retreat based from the Hyatt Place hotel in Columbus, Ga. The brothers and sisters of Columbus District were more than up to the task of providing for the needs of all the attendees. The objective of the retreat was to provide training for the officers, allow them to do community service and provide field trips that served to educate, enlighten and further the bond between the officers. The safety of the children was paramount. Grand Youth Directress, Mary A. James, her assistant, Sherry Davis, District Grand Youth directors and the security team provided by the members of Columbus district, ensured all were safe and well cared for.  All were delighted to travel to the state of Alabama to visit Tuskegee University, the Tuskegee Air Museum and the Central Alabama Veteran’s hospital where the group bestowed a package of goods provided from around the state. In Columbus, they traveled to the National Infantry Museum and had some fun at the Hollywood Connection, a local entertainment area that included skating and laser tag as well as a cinema.  They also had the pleasure of attending a cookout hosted by Columbus District in their honor at the lodge hall.
