2017 119th Grand Session

Athens District No. 6 hosted the 119th Grand Session of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star that took place June 19-23, 2017 in Athens, Georgia. Sister Deaidra Wilson was elected as our new Grand Worthy Matron and Brother Cecil “CJ” James was appointed as our new Grand Worthy Patron while Grand Chapter was in session.

The Belle S. Clark Prayer Brunch was a well-attended event where Grand Officers put on a colorful hat fashion show. The Brunch had a very powerful speaker, beautiful decorations and delicious food. Other Grand Session highlights included Sister Natalie Prater of Butler District being crowned Grand Queen at the Lillian E. Blake Queens’ Extravaganza; wonderful fellowship between Sisters and Brothers at the cookout and themed festivities; great exercise at the Geraldine McKiney Annual Fun Run/Walk; and a lovely but solemn Chapter of Sorrow. As always, the workshops were very informative. This year’s Grand Session definitely set the bar very high for those that follow.
